Juicy raspberries and cherry fruit = 2014 Pinot Noir

2014 Pinot Noir - Fern Ridge BlueRaymond Chan, New Zealand wine advisor, tried our Fern Ridge 2014 Marlborough Pinot Noir and liked it.  He gave it 17 points out of 20 (4 stars), and said “Bright, even, ruby-red colour with some depth, and lighter purple hues on edge. The nose is fresh, primary-fruited and uncomplicated with aromas of raspberry fruit, red liquorice and fruit pastille confectionary suggesting whole berry fermentation. Some liquorice and herb nuances emerge with aeration. Medium-bodied, bright, plush, sweet fruit flavours of ripe raspberries and red cherry fruit are the feature on palate. Whole berry fermentation lift and confectionary notes add brightness to the primary fruit expression. The fruit is supported by supple, fine grainy tannin structure with discreet acidity adding to the juiciness and energy. The wine flows to a plush, succulent, aromatic finish. This is an up-front, juicy, primary-fruited Pinot Noir with flavours of ripe raspberries and a supple mouthfeel.”
